I am Dr. Alyssa Gullickson, but many people call me Dr. G. I am so happy to be back in my hometown of Glenwood. I graduated from Minnewaska Area High School back in 2005. I then completed my B.A. degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. In 2012, I graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.
I love practicing dentistry. To improve my skills, I attended a rigorous nine course curriculum at the Kois Center in Seattle, WA. I graduated from this program in November of 2023 as a Kois Graduate with Honors and a Distinction in Esthetics.
The Kois Center is an advanced continuing education program that teaches dentists the latest advances in esthetics, implants, and restorative dentistry. Dentists in Minnesota are required to attend 25 hours of continuing education per year. Since 2022, I have completed more than 200 hours of CE and have loved every minute of it (minus the red eye flights 😊). I have met many great people and learning from the best dentists from around the world has been a wonderful experience. Friends and patients ask me, “Why are you taking so many dental classes?” My response is simple, “In order to be the best, I must learn from the best.” There is no other way to get there.
In addition to my training at the Kois Center, I am also an active member of the Great River Study Club, the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
My husband, Scott, and I are so happy to be living in the town where we grew up and raising our twins here. When we are not busy with our twins, we enjoy downhill skiing, volunteering at church, golfing, being on the lake, and spending time with our family, friends, and dog, Gus.
Dentistry is not just my career, it is my passion. I love getting to know my patients. My job is not just telling patients what they need- it is to listen, educate and provide the best dental care I can for them. I am so humbled that they put their trust in me to be their dentist. Like everything else, dentistry is always changing (for the better), and I will continue to learn the latest techniques and technologies so I can continue to provide the best dental care that I can for my patients.
I love this quote by Aristotle: “Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work.”
